Uni-Orient Travel, Inc. was incorporated and duly established as a travel agency and tour operator in 1976. In 1982, the company received the First Top Sales Award from the flag carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL) and became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1984.

Being a member of IATA, they were authorized to issue domestic and international tickets of all IATA airlines. To service the needs of the ever-increasing clients, both inbound and outbound, the company decided to branch out and overseas offices were created; one in Hongkong, the favorite destination in Asia of Filipinos, and another one in Xiamen, China. By 1985, the management decided to open a branch in Makati. In 1987, Uni-Orient acquired a five-story building situated in the heart of Chinatown. This office later became the Head Office of Uni-Orient. Two years later, because of the goodwill that it created in the travel industry, management accepted the offer to have a joint venture in taking over an IATA travel agency located in Ermita, Manila, right in front of Ramada Midtown Hotel – the Satellite Travel Inc.

To further make its presence felt in the travel industry not only in Metro Manila, Uni-Orient decided to take another leap by putting up a branch office in Cebu in 1993.

Having established its mark in the travel industry, both inbound and outbound, sales production has proportionally increased. Uni-Orient has garnered the top sales award from several airlines including Philippine Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Air France, China Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Northwest Airlines, to name a few. The company is also privileged to garner the top award in the industry -- the DIAMOND AWARD OF PHILIPPINE AIRLINES.

In 1997, notwithstanding the economic crisis that hit Asia, Uni-Orient once again ventured into another travel-related business. The management established another company --- Mac Air Service, Inc. to become the sole General Sales Agent (GSA) of Air Macau in the Philippines.
